Jazz Market by the Sea Bali
15. – 17. August 2014, Bali

Celebrating Indonesia’s Heritage Colours

This musical and cultural event will take place Friday 15 until Sunday 17 August 2014 daily from 2pm-11pm. Entering its 4th year, Jazz Market by The Sea is a three-day festival, held in Taman Bhagawan, Bali’s most beautiful garden by the sea. This year brings the theme Celebrating Indonesia’s Heritage.

Celebrating Indonesia’s Heritage; stems from the fact that we are not only celebrating Indonesia’s cultural heritage but also its natural heritage. The event simply wants to celebrate every aspect that Indonesia has to offer.

In conjunction with Indonesia’s Independence celebrated each year, the Jazz Market by The Sea festival is another good reason to celebrate the festivities in Bali and enjoy a fun weekend. This year’s Jazz Market is one not to miss!

Great names in Jazz among them Krakatau Reunion, Tulus, Gugun Blues Shelter, ALEXA, Monita Tahalea, Koko Harsoe, BID (Balawan, Ito Kurdhi, Deva) will headline the weekend along with other great new and up and coming musicians giving them platform to take center stage; showcasing Indonesian talents and their musical expression. Adding festivity to this event is a multitude of market stalls, featuring affordable stroll-around traditional cuisine, refreshing beverages, handicrafts, amusements and plenty of engaging activities for children, including arts and crafts, kite making and many more. Grape crushing and Panjat Pinang (greasy pole climbing) are some of the weekend highlights.

The Market concept is inspired by the traditional ‘pasar seni’ in Bali, where the local community comes together in a colourful market environment, full of hustle and bustle and bargain opportunities. Here visitors will gain insight into real culture. Stalls have been carefully selected to demonstrate an array of product variety and creativity.
